REGISTERED NURSE
Children’s Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP) of New River Valley

Full-time position, Monday through Friday daytime hours (no holidays or on-call)
Duties include case management services; health focused home visits to pregnant women and families with children birth to 6 years enrolled in CHIP. Completes health assessments, case management of chronic illnesses & pregnant women, promotion of well child care, and performance of developmental and health screenings. Ability to work effectively with clients of multi-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Requirements: Current VA nursing license with pediatric experience. Community health experience preferred. Valid driver’s license/good driving record.
Starting salary range:  $35,088-$41,897 (depending upon qualifications), plus benefits.

CHIP FAMILY EDUCATOR

Children’s Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP) of New River Valley
Pulaski County
Provides home visiting services to pregnant women and children ages 0-6, to improve health and promote wellness and self-sufficiency in low income families in Pulaski County and surrounding area.  Assists entire family by building on their strengths and addressing such issues as parenting skills, housing, nutrition, education, employment and kindergarten readiness.  Should possess the ability to build relationships with families, and have a passion for helping families with socioeconomic challenges raise safe and healthy children.  Should have an understanding and appreciation of the families’ cultural, economic, and social background and be willing to work in a variety of home settings.  Knowledge of child development and case management preferred.  Experience working in home visiting is highly desirable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field or another degree with an equivalent number of credits in human services field plus two years related experience with human service agency or program OR an Associate’s Degree in human services plus four years related experience with a human service agency or program
Full-time position; 40 hrs/wk.
Beginning wage: $14.57 – $17.40/hr (depending upon qualifications), plus benefits.  Additional compensation for Bilingual. Possession of valid driver’s license and good driving required.

CENTER AIDE

Narrows Head Start (35 hrs/wk)
Responsible for assisting staff with supervision and guidance of children in the classroom; picking up, serving lunch and cleaning up after meals; daily transportation runs and other housekeeping duties within the center.
9 ½ mth/yr; Starting wage: $8.52 – $10.17/hr. plus benefits. Eligible to apply for unemployment benefits in the summer for additional income. Additional compensation for Bilingual (Spanish/English).

New River Community Action Head Start is currently accepting applications for substitute positions throughout the New River Valley.
Responsible for assisting classroom staff in carrying out daily curriculum, supervision of children, meal preparation, cleaning duties, etc.
